Community Programs

We’re breaking down barriers and building the Beloved Community.

When you’re having a hard time making ends meet, we're the meeting place you’ve been looking for. Our community programs grew out of the direct needs of our members. We can help you with transportation, housing, utility payments, and even event planning. We also know that hard times take their toll on our home lives, which is why we also offer programs in anger management based on the teachings of Dr. King.

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING

Everyone needs help. It takes strength to ask for it. If you are struggling with motivation, relationship issues, or emotional distress, our licensed healthcare professionals are here to listen and offer support. We work with you to develop strategies for identifying the root causes that underlie recurring problems. You’ll come away with personalized strategies for effecting lasting change in your life. Sessions are available for individuals, couples, and families. And, of course, all of our appointments are private. No one will share the details of your conversation without your consent. You’re in control of your information. Thanks to grant funding and donations, your appointments will be completely free. No proof of insurance necessary. Counseling services are provided through a partnership with All Things 2 All People.

GRIEF AND LOSS SUPPORT GROUP

We all grieve differently. But healing is our shared goal. If you are experiencing a loss and are looking for a place where you can talk without worrying about being judged, we’re here. Our aim is to help you find strength and peace as you come to terms with life transitions. We offer:

  • One-on-one sessions with trained grief specialists
  • Support groups so that you can practice compassion with others going through similar circumstances
  • Third Saturday of the month from 12pm-1:30pm
  • At the Beloved Community Outreach Center (next to Dollar General)

While we can’t bring back a loved one, we can be there for each other.

NONVIOLENCE TRAINING

Nonviolence trainings are currently on pause so we can take the time to develop them into something even more impactful for our community.
