AfterSchool Programs
In 2022-2023, MLK Center served over 80 families year-round through after-school elementary and middle school programming. Due to space limitations, we had to turn away any child not attending IPS School #43.
BEHAVIORAL PERFORMANCE MEASURES
Students at the MLK Center benefited from over 700 hours of 1:1 tutoring, and we read aloud 122 books.
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT & FEEDBACK
We know that two hours of tutoring, twice per week, for two years can help a child recover two grade levels in reading. In just eight weeks of summer 2023, the entire program saw 8% growth in reading level.
